To record high definition formats miniDV tapes are used called HDV which differs from DV in technical level. Thinner tapes are available which can record video for 120 minutes in EP mode and in standard play it can be recorded only for 60 or 90 minutes.
Now day’s software is available to record any type of data from the computer to miniDV camcorder. In the professional markets DV supports mostly miniDV camcorders only. This camcorder is equipped with recent technologies like flash memory card, hard disk drive and other advantages.
Some DV camcorders are now available with life long batteries and huge zooming can be done up to 32x and with good resolution capacity. Both HD and miniDV camcorders have its own advantages and disadvantages.
